If you're not up for the full Diamond Head hike, this roadside lookout on Diamond Head Road gives you those Instagram-worthy views with zero effort. You'll see the lighthouse below, the rugged coastline stretching toward Koko Head, and on clear days, Molokai floating on the horizon. There are actually three free parking areas along the road, so finding a spot is easier than people think.
This is your first taste of Oahu's spectacular east side—perfect for starting a circle island drive. The protective wall keeps you safe from the dramatic cliffs (seriously, stay behind it), and there's even a pathway down to Diamond Head Beach Park if you want to explore further.
💡 Insider Tip
Skip the crowded sunset and come for sunrise at 5:40am instead—you'll have the place completely to yourself before the tour buses arrive. The blue hour lighting is actually more dramatic for photos anyway.
