This sprawling waterfront development along Ala Moana Boulevard has become Oahu's most ambitious urban renewal project. The shopping spans multiple buildings with over 130 stores including Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, and Whole Foods, plus a 16-screen Consolidated Theatres. What makes it special is the mix — you'll find everything from Panda Express to high-end Japanese restaurants that are actually popular in Tokyo's Shibuya district.
The Wednesday and Saturday farmers markets are solid, and South Shore Market has the best cluster of local vendors and eateries like Scratch Restaurant. Parking is free but can get tight with all the new luxury condos going up. It's definitely more polished than authentic, but the variety is impressive and it connects nicely to the Kaka'ako waterfront.
💡 Insider Tip
If you're catching a movie, grab snacks at Whole Foods first — just take the elevator to the parking garage level and walk through instead of going around the block. The theater doesn't take phone payments, only cards or cash.
