This spectacular 80-foot waterfall on Maui's Hana Highway is pure magic — and you can see it right from the road near mile marker 45. The small parking area only fits about 4 cars, so be flexible with timing. After heavy rains, Wailua Falls transforms into a thundering double cascade that'll literally spray you with mist from the viewing area.
While the turquoise pool below looks tempting for a swim, be smart about it. The rocks are super slippery, currents can be strong, and it's not as deep as it looks. The stone wall "barrier" is knee-high at best with a steep 50-foot drop, so keep kids close and don't lean on it. This is one of the most photogenic stops on the Road to Hana — just respect the power of the water.
💡 Insider Tip
Hit this spot early morning before the tour vans arrive for photos without crowds. After a rainy night, the falls are absolutely thundering — bring a rain jacket because the mist will soak you from the main viewing area.
