Grandma's Coffee House

Upcountry · Maui

Perched at 4,000 feet on Kula Highway in tiny Keokea, Grandma's has been roasting their own estate-grown Maui coffee since 1918. Five generations later, they're still serving some of the island's most unique coffee along with homemade pastries and hearty breakfast plates in a spot that feels like stepping into someone's family kitchen.

The Upcountry setting is magical — rolling green pastures, cool mountain air, views stretching down to the ocean. Fair warning though: service can be slow when they're busy (especially post-sunrise rush), and they sometimes run short-staffed. But the authentic local vibe and historic charm make it worth the wait. Perfect breakfast stop on your Haleakala adventure.

💡 Insider Tip

The Maui Mokka coffee is their rare, chocolatey variety you can't get anywhere else. Come hungry — their breakfast plates are generous and the French toast is a standout.
