The real magic happens when you spot the green sea turtles sunbathing on the sand - sometimes whole families lounging together for hours. Head to the left (north) side of the beach to escape the resort crowds. Walk the ancient King's Trail south for petroglyphs and connecting to other Kohala beaches. Sunset here is chef's kiss.
💡 Insider Tip
Hit the left side of the beach for fewer crowds and the best turtle spotting. The fishponds at the north end are turtle central - they love sunbathing on the sand there, sometimes in adorable pairs.
