Manoa Falls Trail

Downtown Honolulu · Oahu

This lush rainforest hike on Oahu feels like stepping into Jurassic Park (literally — it's been in tons of movies). The easy trail through Manoa Valley winds less than a mile through towering bamboo groves and massive banyan trees to a gorgeous 150-foot waterfall. You'll spot bright green ringneck parrots chattering in the canopy and hear water trickling long before you reach the falls. The trail is mostly gravel with wooden steps, but expect mud — this is one of Oahu's rainiest spots. That's what makes it so magical though. For an extra challenge, look for the unmarked trail near the falls that leads to an incredible valley lookout.

💡 Insider Tip

Come early before crowds arrive and people start blasting music on speakers. Wear shoes with serious grip — it's slick even when dry. Skip the $7 parking headache and Uber instead.
